The Wedding - A Full Make-up Affair by Shaquira Bonilla

Finally, the BIG day was here! Hooray!!!

I'm so happy she's happy.... and beautiful and married and DONE! Haha! It takes so much to make a wedding happen. Luckily, I was only part of the make-up portion and not everything else. She did an amazing job planning her wedding and everyone else who helped did as well.

The wedding took place in beautiful Marco Island, Florida. We got there on Friday at 4:00 PM for the rehearsal dinner. After rehearsal, I had to do her makeup for the rehearsal and I only had 15 minutes! I was very pleased with the finished product.

Since I had 10 minutes to spare after doing the bride's make-up, I took advantage and did up our other beautiful sister Liz. Again, very pleased with the result in 25 minutes of time!

Then after the rehearsal dinner, most of her guests/friends got together for a pool party. We had a blast. Here's the "girl pic"!

And now....the event we've all been waiting for.....The Wedding Day!

It was a beautiful day in Marco Island, Florida. Sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky and us you ask??? In a hotel room, doing makeup and hair of course!

Get this....I did make-up on 8 women in just 5 hours! 8 girls, 5 hours! Can you believe it?

By the same token, my sister Sharmil and Liz did 8 hair styles in 5 hours. Hands down, we are awesome! LOL!

Here is what my station looked like:

This was my first model:
She looked amazing!

Here is model number 2:
Her blue eyes just scream at you!

Here is model number 3:
Simply beautiful!

Amazing model number 4, my beautiful older sister:
She always looks beyond amazing!

Beautiful model number 5, my younger sister:
Looking sexy sis!

Model number 6 and 7 - mother of the bride and groom
(sorry I don't have an close-up shot of them, it was a busy day!)
They look soo happy, radiant and proud!

And now the star of the show.....The Bride!!!
My sister looked absolutely vibrant, beautiful, and sexy!
I was happy with her look but more importantly, I was happy,  she was happy and that's all the matters!

Here are some more photos from that gorgeous day/wedding:

The happy couple!

When a make-up artist works on location, her job is never done.

The following morning after the wedding, the bride had a photo shoot for her Trash the Dress session. We decided to do a very clean soft, sexy, beachy look for the make-up. What do you think? I love it!

This is the most beautiful bride - on the inside and out!
Hope you enjoyed this wonderful trip down the amazing world of wedding makeup. An amazing jorney it is!
A little stressful but always rewarding. Thank you all for reading!

On my way to Marco Island!

I'm on my way to Marco Island!

I'm so excited. I'm in the car with my favorite people: my dad, my son and my best friend. I can't wait for tomorrow. I'm doing makeup for 10 ladies! This is really going to test my agility and my quality of makeup. I love a good challenge!

I'll soon be in the sandy beaches of Marco - can't wait to post pics. Stay tuned!

Make-up for Every Occasion!

There are so many reasons and events for someone to contact a makeup artist. Hardly ever do you get a repeat customer...unless of course you work at a department store. When I worked in Macy's, I had a lot of returned customers but you rarely got called by the same person again.

I, however, am truly blessed to be the favorite makeup artist of Sheril Bonilla, and not because I'm her sister but because she genuinely loves the way I do makeup! It means so much to me that she requested that do the makeup for her ten bridesmaids in her bridal party! (oh boy!)

I have been blessed to be able to do the makeup for Sheril's Baby Shower.

Wasn't she glowing? She looked amazing!

I also had the pleasure of being able to do the makeup for her engagement pictures! Those were great! I even got to do some corrective makeup on the groom! So that was a bonus!

Doesn't she look amazing?!

I love this pic of her!

Isn't he dreamy!! (my sis can pick 'em)

My precious niece!

CHEESE!

So romantic!

And if that wasn't enough, I also got to do her makeup for her bachelorette party! That was an awesome and fun makeup! Obviously I have an amazing model.

Now I'm excited to do her makeup for the wedding! Every girl dreams of her wedding day and the fact that I have the opportunity to help make that day special is an amazing feeling! Not only because this customer is my sister but she also deserves to be pampered and look even more amazing than what she already does!
I cant wait!

So make sure you stay tuned, because coming soon are.....the wedding pictures!!

Plastic surgery without a knife!

Several women live their lives thinking that makeup does not make much of a difference......well I'm here to tell you that you are wrong!!

I'm not telling you that you have to put on tons of makeup but a little mascara, concealer and lip gloss will go a long way! You don't have to spend hours doing your makeup, that's why the last tutorials I've done have been really short! We are all busy but that doesn't take away from the fact that we should look good!

Natural beauty is great but most of the time it doesn't exist! The biggest sign of aging skin is different tones on the skin, dark spot, blemishes, dark circles, etc. That's why I say a little concealer, if you get the right color, that baby will be your best friend!

Just to prove to you what I mean, here are a few before and afters created by me!

Yes this is the same person!

Still very natural!

And notice what I mentioned about the diferent tones

After
I had her smile for both shots, because i didnt want to hear that what made the diference was the smile

After
Beautiful!!!

What a diference right!?!

And with her hair down.

Look how much longer her eyes look.

This is what i meant by a lil concealer goes a long way!
The eye on the left is her natural eye and the one on the right is covered with concealer.

I hope with all these pictures i've proved my point.

Here is a video, where i teach how to do a natural make up in just five minutes. This will make a difference on your every day routine.

Until next time!!
Conceal, Gloss, and apply mascarra!!
